Unmatched Taxi Service in Honolulu

"I booked the flat rate from the airport to Turtle Bay. After I called to say I had arrived, the driver showed up within about five minutes, which was very efficient. The ride itself was fine and I arrived without any issues. When we reached the destination, the taximeter was apparently not working and the driver took my credit card details manually. This made me feel uneasy, as I was worried about being scammed. I sent an email afterward to ask for confirmation but never received a response. The charge did eventually appear correctly on my card, but a short confirmation email would have helped avoid unnecessary stress. In addition, I asked for a quote for the return trip to Honolulu and was told it would be USD 160, which seemed odd given that the flat rate from Honolulu airport to Turtle Bay was USD 149. The vehicle itself was also quite old and only moderately clean, acceptable but far from premium. Out of curiosity I checked Uber prices afterward and saw estimates in the USD 80 to 120 range for the same route. For my return trip, I chose an Uber for USD 80, which was clean, comfortable, and arrived on time."

"I made a reservation for a pickup from my hotel(waikiki) to HNL airport. I did ask and was told a flat rate of $36 for 4 passengers with luggages. Since I did confirm a hour prior to our pickup, the pickup was on time. But, the disappointmenting factor was that he started the meter. I didn't say anything in the beginning actually. I just wanted to see if he was going to charge me the meter rate. I also noticed that his driving was slow and he was taking time. The total meter rate was $47.50 from my hotel to the airport. When we arrived at the airport, I did mention to him that I was told a flat rate of $36. Honestly if I didn't speak up, I'm sure that would be the price that I would have paid. We are Asian and we have lived in the US for a long time. I refuse to be taken advantage so I only paid $36 + 4 tip. He didn't say anything, maybe he was embarrassed. It is unfortunate because we would of given him more in tips+ extra for Christmas. When we come to Hawaii next time, we will not use Charley's Taxi service."

"Great reliable service. I booked online the night before and they arrived on time and got us to the airport swiftly. I travelled with a baby and a child. No car seat needed as they are a taxi service. I have used them before and they never disappoint! I particularly like their flat rate dates."

"I rated my driver of 5 he was very nice, but your directions for pickup were absolutely incorrect as it took extra time to find the pick up location. The directions took us out the door and to the left. These used to be correct but no longer are. After a long flight and getting to the island after 9 pm. All I wanted was my taxi I reserved to be where it was suppose to be. I will have to look for alternative transportation from now on. Our trip with you was Thursday evening 10/23"

"I had never been to Honolulu before, so I wanted a pre-booked ride to my hotel, so I would not have to worry about navigating or trying to find the rideshare area. I booked the VIP package online. The online booking was very straightforward, even the extra costs to get a lei. On arrival at the meeting point, it did take my driver a few minutes to get there. But once he arrived he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and had lots of great advice about the city. The minivan that he arrived in did give me some reservations though. While the complimentary water was nice, the vehicle was not particularly clean. Considering that I booked and paid for the VIP experience, I had expected a clean well put together vehicle. All in all it was a nice experience. And when returning to Honolulu I will use Charley's taxi again."
